YOGA ON HER MIND by britt.

Why Yoga? My Why.

I yoga not only for myself but for my family <3

Did you know that I signed up for yoga teacher training an hour before the first lecture? I have been a lover and student of yoga since high school and have always been curious and interested in yogic philosophy. I thought about doing teacher training for many years but never made the leap into teacher training until the pandemic hit. With two kids under two while we packed up our life and moved countries sounds like the worst timing to commit to a teacher training, insert The Traveling Yoga Studio ended up being the perfect thing my soul was craving. The teacher training they offered was all virtual and if I couldn't make it to a live lecture I could watch the recording on my own time. I am beyond grateful that I said "YES" to this as it was the best thing I had done for myself in a long time.

So now you know my curiosity for yoga stemmed deep and I was eager to learn everything I could...and I am still learning! But the deeper question is why am I doing the yoga thing? It's a good question but let's dive in.

Yoga is something that I do or try to do daily. If I'm being totally honest I do it because it's an hour out of my day where I'm not constantly thinking about other people and trying to keep tiny humans alive. It's my "me time”.

Maybe you already have designated time for yourself which is fantastic! We all need to recharge in our own way and for me that is yoga. It is a moving meditation that allows me to be fully present and in the moment. Yoga gives me the opportunity to connect to my deeper self where I find my truth and it allows me time to think about what I want in my life, what really matters, and then manifest it. Yoga is part self reflection and part self realization. Realizing what is no longer serving you and letting go to make space for all things new. As a parent, it can be hard to find that "me time”. We are constantly chasing around our littles, our time is devoted 100% to them, and don't even get me started on the mom guilt. So this yoga practice that I am passionate about is not just something that will keep me in shape and healthy both physically and mentally, it is also ME time. I deserve to have that time for myself. YOU deserve to have that time for yourself.

I have said this before and I will say it again. Yoga has changed my life. It has helped me become a better wife, mom, daughter, sister, and friend. Becoming a yoga teacher has given me another purpose in life outside of being a mom. I am extremely passionate about taking care of YOUR needs first in order to better take care of those around you. It's a simple thought but most of us either forget or don't make time in our day for ourselves. And why not stay active while you find your “me time”. Yoga is the perfect solution.
