Britt's 3 Hacks to Cross-Platform Branding

Marketing should be an extension of your business. Branding across various platforms should be seamless in order for your customers to recognize that it’s you. Trust is important and essential for building long lasting relationships. Here are some crucial tips to help you get started to successfully integrate cross-platform branding for your business:

  1. To begin, traditional marketing continues to play a vital role in this new age of digital marketing. Niching down not only distinguishes you from competition but allows you to communicate more clearly to your target audience on what you want them to do. Once you niche down you can market and brand your platforms with consistent messaging. This will better serve your students, which in turn better serves your business. As a yoga teacher I know how badly you want to make an impact on lives and help everyone that you possibly can. However, trying to market to everyone is not a strategy I would suggest. If you are struggling with the concept of niching down watch for my next few blog posts dedicated to finding your niche.

  2. Second step is to choose one platform along with your website. Instead of trying to do all the things focus on getting really consistent with one platform before trying to manage them all. A website should not be an afterthought, it should serve your business as the main vessel. The powerhouse that grows and evolves with your business objectives over time, as well as holds all of your offerings in one secure place. Your website is where you direct people to visit from your other chosen platform. For me, instagram is where I like to hangout so that was my logical choice for a platform. Maybe yours is YouTube, TikTok, Facebook or Pinterest, all are great. Whatever platform you choose ensure that your branding coincides with your website. Things to consider are colour scheme, fonts, and images. Canva is a free tool that can help you manage these considerations and assist you with integrating brand consistency. I suggest buying a font that you are drawn to that you can use for marketing to enforce brand recognition across all platforms.

  3. The importance of owning your own website extends to my third point for cross-platform branding. Websites are making it easier for the user to repurpose content. Repurposing content saves you time and can help you reach more people across multiple online platforms. In my last point I urged you to begin with one platform, but if you have that already working for you then I suggest adding more platforms. Pinterest is a beautiful space that gives your business the brand extension from your website. Showcase your business through your colours, fonts and images. Adding a blog to your website helps with SEO (search engine optimization) and is easily repurposed from website to Pinterest.
